Moderation & Reports

Reporting rules violations is a little bit different depending on whether or not you're a member of the Speakeasy.

On the Mastodon Instance

Speakeasy Members - To report rules violations on the Speakeasy Mastodon instance, Speakeasers are asked to use the report function on the instance. This allows the @Overgoddess to quickly assign a moderator to handle the issue. If for some reason the report function isn't working, Speakeasers can send the Overgoddess a message on the fedi, or they can email the Overgoddess directly at overgoddess@bardicperspiration.com.

Non-Members - We ask that non-members who have complaints about Speakeasers contact @Overgoddess on the instance, or by email at overgoddess@bardicperspiration.com. While we do accept reports forwarded from other instances, we cannot see who submitted those reports, making it difficult for us to weed out legitimate complaints from malicious reports.

Appeals

Applications - The Investigatrix of the Speakeasy reviews all applications to the Speakeasy and makes a determination on whether to admit a potential member. If she declines your application, you can notify her that you'd like to appeal at investigatrix@bardicperspiration.com.

Bans & Defederations - The Investigatrix of the Speakeasy handles all ban and defederation appeal investigations. If you are a former Speakeasy member who was suspended, a fediverse member from another server who was banned, or an instance we defederated, you can contact the Investigatrix at investigatrix@bardicperspiration.com to begin your appeal.

The Investigatrix would like us to remind everyone that she does not decide whether to overturn bans or defederations. All appeals are reviewed by a panel of Speakeasers to decide what to do.

For non-urgent inquiries including requests to partner, questions about using Speakeasy icons, blocklists, and whatever else, please e-mail the Overgoddess at overgoddess@bardicperspiration.com. For ugent inquiries, you can message @Overgoddess with the details.

If you're contacting us with business ideas or business opportunities, don't. We aren't interested and are probably not going to bother to reply.
